Asahi Kasei to Mass-produce Wire-grid Polarizer for LCDs

Asahi Kasei plans to soon install a mass-production facility for wire-grid polarizing film,measuring about one meter in width,at its domestic plant in Fuji,with operational startup scheduled for the year-end and full-scale production to start in 2007.The Tokyo-based company intends to generate ￥10 bn(85.3 mn)in annual sales.The decision to establish the volume-production facility followed shipments of samples with a narrower width to potential customers.
