Idemitsu Kosan Accelerates Efficient Oil/Petchem Production at Tokuyama

摘要

Idemitsu Kosan plans to accelerate practical research at its Tokuyama refinery and plant(Yamaguchi Prefecture)regarding feedstock diversification and effective utilization of C_4 fractions.Under the government-subsidized RING II initiative,started in fiscal 2003 with the aim of developing highly integrated technology for reducing environmental burdens imposed by the oil refining industry,a polymerization reaction tower(C_4 multi-reaction tower)that can flexibly produce such products as clean gasoline base materials and clean solvents from the C_4 fraction co-produced from refining and petrochemicals has been installed,together with a distillation tower(pre-topper),and full-scale research has started.Because this fiscal year is the final year of development,technical development that eyes commercialization will be prioritized and further advancement of the complex will be explored.
