It is clear that, in order to increase the return on capital employed, one has to maximise the availability of the mining equipment in the pit, thereby enabling maximum productivity. One such way to do so is by equipping critical machines, such as draglines, shovels and haul trucks, with remote access technology. Once a machine is digitally connected, a whole host of efficiency boosting features becomes available, from general remote monitoring to detailed remote service and support.
