Anglo-Australian miner, Rio Tinto, has announced a significant restructuring to its business as the company continues to feel the effects of low coal prices. Under the plans, Rio Tinto Energy - the product group that housed its coal and uranium assets - will be broken up. Its coal business will be merged with its copper business to form a new Coal and Copper group, while uranium will join the Diamond and Minerals group.
