As the UK enters unknown territory with the onset of the new Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition Government, one thing remains certain: energy and future energy policy continue to sit firmly at the top of the political agenda. The new administration must rapidly reflect on the outcome of the Copenhagen Summit and try to plan for the future in the light of the uncertainties highlighted in the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets' (Ofgem) Project Discovery report and the Treasury's Energy Markets Assessment published in March 2010.
