Crush, don't truck

Tenova Takraf' s latest technical developments of mobile crushing plants have mainly been motivated by large-scale opencast mining projects, predominantly in Australia, Asia and North America. Especially in coal mines or opencast mines, where seams can be extracted along straight and extended benches, shiftable face conveyors may be used and truck haulage ultimately replaced. Results of recent feasibility studies conducted for overburden removal systems show an overall life cycle cost that clearly favours in-pit crushing and conveying systems (IPCCs) over other solutions, such as haul trucks.
