CHINA--Shenhua plans massive investment in coal mining

China Shenhua Energy Co. has announced that it plans to invest Yuan 270 billion ( 39.7 billion US dollars) over the next four years to double its coal production capacity and expand its power generation and port operation businesses. At present, Shenhua is China's largest coal producer when measured by output. Under the company's new five-year development plan, Shenhua will look to develop into a large-scale comprehensive energy enterprise with coal production and power generation serving as its basic business, and supporting rail and port businesses.
