The coal block evaluation can be completed within seconds, allowing multiple sensitivities for different equipment or deposit variations to be considered. PPC is working closely with Datamine to enhance the process further. In addition to the blending requirements for operational planning within a single open-pit operation, Datamine has developed techniques that allow the consideration of multi-pit sources in achieving a consistent blended product at the power plant, whilst minimising re-handling through stockpiles and the extra costs that this involves.
