High standards

ASTM International Committee on Coal and Coke have invited interested parties to participate in developing a new standard:WK5588,Practice for Chemical Fractionation.The new standard aims to develop methods for predicting fouling and slagging in boilers.These are problems which cost the industry millions of dollars each year.A new standard would therefore be extremely valuable to the industry,as it could be used in coal contracts to evaluate potential risk,and thus avoid unnecessary financial loss.
