摘要

Close customer proximity and onsite teamwork are vital for the development of new machines. This article illustrates such co-operation between Industriemaschinen-Bergbau-Service GmbH (IBS), a German mining machinery manufacturer, and Altos Hornos de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (AHMSA), the largest integrated steel plant in Mexico. This business relationship played a significant part in the development of the latest IBS roadheader, the SM160, which bridges the gap between the 30 t and the 601 roadheader weight classes.
