RUSSIA Major investments to boost coal production and exports

Vladimir Putin, prime minister of Russia, announced at the end of January a huge investment programme for the Russian coal industry. The Russian Government will spend Rouble 252 billion ( 8.17 billion US dollars) for the development of the coal industry by 2030. The funding comes as part of a larger Rouble 3.7 trillion (121 billion US dollars) investment programme that will mostly be driven by the private sector.
