The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), is the US federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness. Along with other Government agencies - notably the Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) - it conducts research and publishes studies addressing ways to reduce hearing loss across many mining conditions.
