Longwall Associates, Inc. has announced the introduction of its new line of chain connectors. The development of these connectors has been in progress for some time; they are installed in three mines with severe geological conditions, where their performance has been regularly assessed.In developing the connectors, Longwall Associates' R&D team worked very closely with a client whose has very arduous mine conditions; wherein the mine has experienced problems with premature failures in its chain connector operations. The R&D team's goal was to identify the problems associated with equipment failures. These evaluations, in addition to independent testing of samples, enabled the team to fully assess the constraints of current connectors. To address the problems, the team initiated a new design using new materials. The result is highly innovative chain connectors.
