Port: fate of expansion

Gladstone Port Authority (GPA) is poised to handle an additional 10 million tpa of coal at its RG Tanna Coal Terminal (RGTCT) pending the completion of an AU us80 million expansion project. The project, which is due for completion this month with the commissioning of Stockpile 15, will ensure that one of the world's largest coal terminals (RGTCT handled 33.9 million t of coal in 2001/02) meets increased demand from coal exporters.
