The mining department of ABB Process Industries AB, Vasteras, Sweden, supplies total solutions for a full range of friction and drum hoists to meet all application requirements. The company's experience of mine hoists dates back to the end of the 1880s, when the world's first electrically-powered mine hoist is believed to have been installed in Sweden. Over the years, ABB has made great efforts in developing state-of-the-art technologies for mine hoists. Today, ABB is the only supplier of complete hoisting systems, including hoist machinery with brakes, shaft equipment and electric drive and control systems based on Industrial~(IT) solutions.
