ROM jig plant for Optimum Colliery

Dowding Reynard & Associates, (DRA) the South African project management and engineering company, has recently been awarded a contract to build a plant to upgrade run of mine, (ROM) material ahead of the washing plant at Optimum Colliery. The plant will remove coarse stone and higher density material, which will effectively free-up capacity at the existing washing plant by removing potential sinks handling bottlenecks. The other benefit of ROM de-stoning is that crushing costs are reduced.ROM at Optimum is mined by opencast methods, and after some crushing to handleable size, the ROM from various sources is conveyed to a central stockyard and treatment plant.
