[UK] SRF facility begins Climafuel production

SITA UK has begun producing Climafuel at its new facility at Landor Street, Birmingham. The ￡7 million SRF facility took in its first batch of waste in March 2013. Equipment at the site is currently undergoing testing but once the plant becomes fully operational it will process 22 tph of waste. Climafuel is an alternative to coal, and is used at Cemex's Rugby cement plant. The facility makes use of commercial waste that would otherwise go to landfill.
