RAG Coal International AG was able to increase its results again in 2002. Pre-tax earnings of 105.3 million euros exceeded the value of the previous year by approximately 25 million euros. Due to predominantly external financing, the earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amount to 170 million euros. 120 million t of coal was delivered around the world, placing RAG Coal International among the top five coal companies operating in the private sector worldwide.
