USGS releases Mineral Industry Survey on cement in January 2012

The USGS (US Geological Survey) has published its January 2012 Cement report as part of its Mineral Industry Surveys. January saw an increase in cement and clinker shipments, which the report has attributed to mild weather conditions over the winter months, as well as growing consumption levels. Total cement and clinker imports reached 373 000 t, almost double the amount imported in January 2011.
