Dangote Cement's profits rose to US$750.7 million in 2011

Dangote Cement's pre-tax profits grew to reach US$750.7 million in 2011, rising to N131.9 billion from N1 17.6 billion in 2010. According to local reports, the company plans to quadruple profits over the next four years as it continues to expand its reach across Africa, constructing plants and terminals in 13 other countries in the continent. Dangote currently operates three cement plants in Nigeria with a total production capacity of 20.25 million tpa. The capacity of the recently inaugurated Ibese plant in Ogun State is set to be doubled from 6 million tpa to 12 million tpa with the addition of two more lines. Dangote aims to increase its total production capacity in Africa to 46 million tpa by 2015.
