MARKET DEVELOPMENTS: RUSSIA, BELARUS AND KAZAKHSTAN

The cement industry is one of the most dynamic economic sectors in the countries of the Customs Union. In 2013, Russia reached a record-high level of cement consumption, and there is hope that the industry will set a new record in 2014 despite political and economic complexities. Analysts expect demand to grow by 2020 amid the modernisation of infrastructure in Russia and Kazakhstan, the further implementation of state housing programmes in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, and the preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation.
