Description of a New Species Belonging to the ruficornis Species Group of the Genus Nomada (Hymenoptera, Apidae) from Yakushima Island, Japan, with an Updated List of Nomada Species from Yakushima Is

A new Nomada species of the ruficornis species group is described and illustrated under the name of N. yakushimensis. An updated list including eleven Nomada species from Yakushima Is. is provided. Yakushima Island is approximately 500 km~2 in area, located about 70 km south of the southern end of Kyushu, Japan, and its climatic condition ranges from subtropical zone at coastal area to subarctic zone in mountainous area. The bee fauna of this island is summarized in YAMANE et al. (1999; 63 species).As for the cleptoparasitic bee genus Nomada, only five species have been recorded, but more species are expected to be distributed on this island. Recently a detailed result of ecological survey of wild bees on this island was published by IKUDOME (2005), and two unidentified species of Nomada were listed.
