Description of a Male of Lycocerus hiroshii M. Sato et Okushima, 2001 (Coleoptera, Cantharidae)

A male of Lycocerus hiroshii M. Sato et Okushima, 2001 was collected for the first time, and described and figured.Lycocerus hiroshii M. Sato et Okushima, 2001 was described from Iriomote Island, southwest Japan, based on two female specimens, since then there has been no male specimen collected from the island. According to the original description, the present species is considered as a close relative of L. nigricollis Wittmer, 1984 from Taiwan After that, L. russulus Okushima et Yang, 2013 was described from Taiwan as the closer relative species, and hence detailed comparative study based on the male has been expected.
