Taxonomic notes on the dentipes species group of the genus Ceratina in the Oriental Region, with a new species and a new subspecies (Hymenoptera, Apidae).

Ceratina dentipes Friese of the subgenus Neoceratina Parkins is reclassified into two species, C. dentipes occurring in southern Asia and New Guinea and C. spinipes sp. nov. occurring in the Ryukyus, Japan. Ceratina kankauensis Strand described from Taiwan is treated as a subspecies of C. dentipes and an undescribed taxon found in Minamidaito-jima of the Ryukyus is described as C. spinipes daitoensis ssp. nov. A key to the dentipes species group is provided.
