JARN's reporter obtained information from an industry insider in Guangdong, China, which is the world's largest air conditioner market and production base. According to this information, the price of raw materials increased between November 2015 and November 2016. In particular, the prices of steel, copper, and aluminum rose by 20% during that period. Consequently, air conditioner manufacturers are now having to shift their efforts from digesting inventory to coping with rises in raw material prices.
