The International Standard ISO 281, which determines a method for predicting fatigue life of rolling bearings was revised in 2007 [1]. According to ISO 281: 2007, two types of rating life, basic rating life and a corrected rating life, have been standardized. The absolute value of a basic rating life predictable from bearing specifications and applied load was increased in 1990, reflecting the improved life of actual bearings due to progress of technology, but essentially the standardization did not change after 1962.
