摘要

We examined the friction and wear characteristics of TCP additive oils derived from POE and PAO base oils in rolling-sliding conditions. As a result, we successfully clarified the following. (1) A comparison of the base oils showed that POE had a lower friction coefficient than PAO and better wear resistance. However, the difference in wear volume became less as the contact pressure rose. (2) A comparison of similar TCP additive amounts showed that the POE type, which generated competitive adhesion to the base oil, had a smaller wear reduction effect. However, high-density additives obtained about the same wear resistance effects as the PAO type. (3) What contributes to improved wear resistance is the generation of iron phosphates on the friction surface, and the proportion of its friction surface coverage is related to the thickness. The friction coefficient of additive oil rises in line with improvement in its wear resistance.
