A new species of the subgenus Evylaeus ROBERTSON, 1902 of the genus Lasioglossum CURTIS, 1833 (Halictini, Halictinae) is described from the Ryukyus (Amamioshima and Okinawa-jima), southwestern Japan. Remarks on taxonomy, geographical distribution andflight records are also given.
