Two New Species of Pulvinaria (Homoptera, Coccidae) from Japan

Two new soft scale insects of Pulvinaria occurring in Japan are described and illustrated P. aonoae sp nov., associated with Eurya japonica, is close to another Japanese species, P. enkianthi P. satoi sp nov is associated with the fern Polystichum tripteron, an unusual host plant for a Pulvinaria species, and is similar to P. vitis, the type species of the genus.
