Reactions of naphtho[b]cyclopropene with isothiocyanate derivatives to give [2pi+2sigma] type cycloadducts using the thiocarbonyl moieties as 2pi components

Thermal reactions of naphtho[b]cyclopropane with isothiocyanate derivatives afforded [2pi+2sigma] type cycloadducts using the thiocarbonyl moieties as 2pi components in moderate yields.The product yields were promoted by the use of a catalytic amount of Yb(fod)_3.The structure of the products were determined by a single crystal X-Ray analysis.
