摘要

A new method for constructing tetrasubstituted pyrrolidine derivatives using the known β-lactam as a chiral building block was developed. After construction of a carbapenem skeleton, the β-lactam moiety was cleaved to afford a multi-substituted pyrrolidine. The present method was employed for the synthesis of A-315675 analogs.
