Oral health care and aspiration pneumonia in frail older people: A systematic literature review

摘要

Good oral health care appears to reduce the incidence of aspiration pneumonia in the frail elderly and demented populations, but it is unclear precisely which components of oral health care are most beneficial. The purpose of this systematic review (January 2000-July 2010) was to investigate oral health care interventions in the frail elderly and the effect, if any, of the interventions on the incidence of aspiration pneumonia.
