American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 48 th annual meeting 2012: Chicago, Illinois, USA - June 1-5, 2012

The 48 th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) was held as always in Chicago, Illinois, and featured over 250 oral sessions and almost 2,500 poster presentations. With a theme of "collaborating to conquer cancer", the meeting was attended by more than 25,000 oncology professionals, making it one of the biggest congresses of the year. This report provides an update on clinical studies of a number of novel treatments targeting cancers, including prostate, ovarian and advanced solid tumors.
