Capsaicin dermal patch: a guide to its use in non-diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain

Capsaicin dermal patch contains a high concentration (8% w/w) of synthetic capsaicin. In patients with post-herpetic neuralgia or HIV-associated neuropathy, a single application of capsaicin dermal patch generally reduced patient-ranked pain scores and improved patient-ranked global impression of change for up to 12 weeks. Repeated applications continued to be effective and generally well tolerated.
