Oral colchicine (colcrys(R)) in the treatment and prophylaxis of goutdagger: profile report.

摘要

Gout is a disease with a descriptive history dating back to the time of Hippocrates. It is a well known type of arthritis associated with impaired metabolism of purines, resulting in hyper-uricaemia and an accumulation of the metabolic end product urate, in the form of monosodium urate crystals, in joints. The build-up of these crystals induces an acute inflammatory response that involves leukocyte recruitment, in particular that of neutrophils.
