摘要

The results of testing of membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) of a hydrogen-air fuel cell (FC) based on the domestic analog of the Aquivion polymer electrolyte with a shortened polymer chain synthesized by a new procedure of aqueous emulsion copolymerization of fluorinated monomers are presented. The obtained data are compared with the performance of MEA based on the commercial Nafion electrolyte. The stress testing of MEA in FC functioning without a load at reduced relative moisture content of the gas and at 90A degrees C showed for each MEA a decrease in the cathode catalyst (platinum) surface area and an increase in the resistance caused by partial destruction of the electrolyte. The current-voltage characteristics and stability of the Aquivion-based MEA exceed the performance attained using the commercial Nafion electrolyte.
