摘要

Porphyrin photosensitizers (PPSs) immobilized on polymer carriers are used in both catalytic processes involving singlet oxygen (1O2) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) of tumors.The latter is due to their tumoro-tropism and biocompatibility.When used in PDT,1O2 oxidizes cell components and initiates a cascade of processes leading to the death of tumor cells.The possibility of using PPSs immobilized on biocompatible polymers,in particular,on natural polysaccharides,in PDT has been recently reported [1].However,it should be taken into account that polymers can sometimes modify the catalytic properties of PPSs.
