摘要

Detailed studies of the initial stages of solid-phase reactions in mechanicalalloying (MA)allow one to udnerstand their mechanisms at the microscopic (atomic)level.According to one commonly accepted current concept,the formation of a contact surface between intial components and their chemical interaction represent a necessary condition for the onset of heterogeneous solid-phase reactions.Indeed,the formation of layered composites,typically approx=1 mum in size,was observed by scanning electron microscopy at the earliest MA stages [1,2].
