摘要

Control of the proliferation and differentiation of human tumor cells is a pressing biomedical problem. Chemical agents affecting these processes are being intensely searched for. Detection of differentiating properties of endogenous substances is ofspecial interest. The myelogenic peptide MP-4, an octopeptide (Phe-Arg-Pro-Arg-Ile-Met-Thr-Pro) isolated from the supernatant of the culture of pig bone marrow cells, is one of these substances.
