摘要

Controlled radical polymerization [1, 2] affords polymers with a narrow molecular-weight distribution (MWD) and controlled molecular weight. A highly promising method of this polymerization is reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) radical polymerization. RAFT polymerization is favorably distinguished from currently used controlled polymerization techniques in the following parameters: the set of monomers able to polymerize by this mechanism; possible mild conditions of synthesis; accessibility of the reversible chain transfer agents (RAFT agents).
