摘要

This is the first study to demonstrate that the neural complex of the auditory system of male mosquitoes Culex pipiens pipiens contains at least two functional subsystems: a broadband subsystem and a narrowband one. The frequency threshold characteristic of the broadband subsystem of the mosquito that perceives sound changes in accordance with the rhythm of wing strokes. The narrowband neurons are characterized by a response band of 30 Hz with an optimum center frequency of 200 Hz.
