The preparation and characteristics of a multi-cover-layer type, blue mica titania, pearlescent pigment

摘要

This paper describes an experimental method for preparing mica titania pearlescent pigments in which the substrate is coated with iron blue. The parameters that affect the pearlescence and hue of the compounds are discussed. This paper also studies the heat-reisstance of the pigments and describes a method to prevent discoloration. Furthermore, the nucleation process of the iron blue precursor (i.e.white brei) is discussed.
