Dutchi takeover boosts Regal Beloit's European presence

THE US MOTOR manufacturer Regal Beloit is buying the Netherlands-based motor distributor, Dutchi Motors, for around USD34m in cash and the assumption of USD3.2m in liabilities. The deal follows Regal Beloit's USD27.6m purchase earlier this year of the Chinese motor-maker Hwada, which is a key supplier to Dutchi. Dutchi, which claims to.be Europe's largest stockist of LV motors, is expected to generate USD70-75m of income for Regal Beloit next year. Regal Beloit's chairman and CEO, Henry Kneuppel says he is "very excited" about the purchase and describes Dutchi as "a strong and growing business across Eastern and Western Europe, South Africa, Russia and the Middle East.
