A team of UK university students has developed a machine that creates complex chocolate structures from 3D CAD files. The machine could be commercialised to allow lucrative production of personalised chocolate shapes. Researchers at Exeter University have built a machine that can create complex chocolate structures from 3D CAD images. The ChocALM machine, which uses a process known as additive layer manufacturing (ALM), could be developed to tap a vast potential market for personalised chocolates which are currently extremely expensive to produce.
