When design hinges on coiled spring pins

Manufactured with a 'seam', coiled spring pins are ideal for hinges. Michael Pasko, an engineer at Spiral International, explains why. During their manufacture, coiled spring pins are rolled with more than one wrap of material, resulting in a 'seam'. This, however, makes them more suitable for hinges than the gap or slot of slotted spring pins.
