Prior to leaving Cargill he was Co-Managing Director-Asia of Renessen, a Cargill joint venture where he was charged with developing and marketing a proprietary line of nutrient-dense feed-grains and oilseeds within Asia. Global Water Technologies, Inc. has patented an electronic water treatment system to improve the efficiency of agriculturalwater use. Their ED2000 System reduces irrigation water requirements by controlling precipitation of minerals in the water, resulting in more efficient water use. Selling your carbon credits just took a step closer now that the U.S. Department of Energyhas revised guidelines for the Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, known as 1605(b), It enables farmers and landowners to estimate, report and register greenhouse gas reductions and carbon sequestration achieved by their farming practices. In time, these carbon sequestration credits will be salable in the open market, purchased by firms who are net contributors to global warming and must either stop, or show enough purchased "credits" to be environmentally neutral. New field: Nutrigenomics. Alltech, a global animal-health company based in Kentucky, will build a Center for Animal Nutrigenomics. The field involves defining the optimal nutritional status of animals so they may reach their genetic potential in the most economical way and with lesswaste.
