Beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG-beta) is considered to be a useful tumor marker for germ cell tumors (GCTs); however, various tumors other than GCTs, including cystic pituitary adenomas, Rathke's cleft cysts, and craniopharyngiomas, were reported to express HCG-beta.
