摘要

There are roughly 25 million lightning strikes per year in the USA. With these, roughly 1,000-2,000 people are struck by lightning. From the thousands of people that are struck by lightning each year, approximately 150-300 are fatally injured, bringing the fatality rate to approximately 8-10%. Men aged 15-44 years from the South and Midwest are more likely to be struck by lightning with Texas and Florida being the states with the most injuries. Of these deaths, roughly 25% are work-related [1].
