Continuous Detonation in the Regime of Nonstationary Ejection of the Oxidizer

A new type of jet engine called the pulse detonation engine (PDE) is actively being developed at present. Operation of a PDE involves periodic [1] or continuous [2] burn of a propellant in a traveling detonation wave. It is known [1] that periodic-burn PDEs with longitudinal detonation waves can be operated in the oxidizerejection regime and generate a takeoff thrust.
