Message at my retirement from the editor-in-chief, with best wishes to all who are concerned with digestive endoscopy

With the publication of the previous issue, I retired from the post as Editor-in-Chief of Digestive Endoscopy, serving for 6 years since 2006. Now, I am very pleased to reach my happy goal of retirement, as international recognition of this journal has been remarkably expanded in recent years.First, I would like to express my great thanks to my colleagues of the editorial board, the reviewers, the members of Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES), and all of the subscribers and'readers for their persevering and strong support extended to me since I took over the position from the former Editor-in-Chief, Professor Tetsuo Yamakawa.During my working years, fortunately for me, Digestive Endoscopy was registered for Thompson Reuters ISI Web of Science in 2007, cited in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) from 2010, and also indexed in PubMed. Hereby, Digestive Endoscopy was ready to step forward as an international journal.
